The Worship Service

The worship service goal of Karcher Church of the Nazarene is to facilitate a worship service atmosphere in which attendees will sense the Holy Spirit and draw closer to God. Our hope is that His presence will be felt as attendees praise and worship God, partake of the sacred acts such as communion and baptism, as well as listen and respond to His Word and Truth proclaimed. We understand that God’s presence must be sensed in the service for lives to be changed. In Acts 2 we see that on the day of Pentecost, God’s presence was so evident that it attracted a huge crowd and 3000 were saved! There is no perfect formula to ensure that everyone in a worship service will leave sensing God’s presence, but we believe if we  prepare, pray, present and encourage participation God will do the rest. We must sensitive, trust and plan for God to move in our midst during any or all of the elements of a worship service.

We understand that the church exists first and foremost to glorify God. Our worship service is not another activity, but is the most important aspect of our church. Genuine worship will not only edify the believers it will attract unbelievers and will open their hearts to the gospel message. All other ministries to reach a hurting world should be an overflow from our corporate time together. Our corporate worship experience should be the “icing on the cake” for those that live their entire life as an act of worship!

Psalm 100

1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

2 Chronicles 5:13

13 The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang:

“He is good;
his love endures forever.”
